Battle Royal 2016 Tournament Schedule & More

Once again, it's on!

Team Ninja has officially announced the next season of the DOA5 Last Round tournament series, Battle Royal 2016. Last year, the series has ended with JC Akira winning NEC16. But now, will he come back to retain his title?

This year, there will be six qualifying tournaments not just in the United States, but for the first time ever in the Battle Royal series, France and Australia are joining in on the fun. The qualifying winners of the six tournaments will participate at The Showdown, at NEC17 this December.

Its kinda sad to see that EVO is not on the list, because I want to continue appearing in DOA tournaments. But are there still chances for side tournament even if Battle Royal doesn't have Las Vegas? Because I'm currently set for EVO once again.

Big E is trying to plan something for DOA side tournament at EVO. Also, the point system is gone this time around, so that means we will have 6 qualifiers around the world. Not to mention, they also announced next year's Battle Royal as well.

Alright good to know Big E is trying something for EVO. Isn't the point system suppose like rounds where if you complete a match that player gets a point until they reach whether its 2 out of 3 for Tekken 7 or 3 out of 5 for DOA5LR or is it something completely different?

Last year, the point system was based on where the player was ranked in Top 8 in a tournament. For example...

1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 8 points
3rd place: 6 points
4th place: 4 points
5th place: 2 points (tied)
7th place: 1 point (tied)

Summer Jam 9 doubled the points since it was a premier event. This year, the point system is no longer being used.
