Impending information for purchases

Postby Gigas81 » Sun Nov 09, 2014 5:38 pm

The stores below will carry both the Limited Edition and the regular game for pre-order. Lets do this!

Gamestop
Bestbuy

I went to Target, Walmart & hhgregg and they didn't have the game scheduled for their store. Maybe their online stores will be different. I suggest getting the Limited Edition.

I went to EB Games, which is a division of Gamestop, and they didn't even have it in their system. Let alone for pre-order. :|

You guys are better off going to a mom and pops shop. The commercial places don't really know about these types of games if it isn't call of dodo...

Played all weekend and I have to say I'm impressed with the net code so far. Combos are similar to Marvel but not as easy.

I hope I am able to play this along side usf4 and keep playing. It's a very rushdown heavy game and I need beginers to play with and learn the many systems. I am optomistic about this game though.

If you say that in a way it's chain combos and all, yes, it's similar.
But if by that you say "they act like Marvel combos", not really. Most combos in Guilty Gear are grounded and fairly short and usually ends in a knockdown to start your okizeme (pretty much the core game of GG), the longest combos you will ever get are usually around 10 hits or more and it'll get harder to do the combo the longer it is and are usually meter dependant but they usually does good damage.
If you want a tip, you should focus more on short combos that benefits your okizeme game rather than going for long and complicated combo you can drop fairly easily.

Thanks for the advise. I honestly like the game a lot.

For the time being I am using sol bad guy (Yeah Ryu!) to get a feel of the game. I think I may put sf down for a while to focus on gg. I like it that much.

Ky is actually more the Ryu of the game than Sol, Sol would be more Ken cause he's way more oriented rushdown pressure than Ky which is more about space control and projectiles.

Exactly. Difference being that Ky doesn't even closely like being in melee range unless he has already pressured the opponent into respecting his pressure and go for a throw FRC. Otherwise stick with mid-range.
Meanwhile, Sol isn't too much a shoto. His Gun Flame doesn't cover the whole screen and despite his DP being all around the best in the game, his real damage comes from his Dustloop, Sidewinder Loop and his command grab that starts the former two.
But yeah, these two are the closest you'll get to all-arounders in this game.
